CEC Application Process
The CEC Application Process Step by Step
CEC applications are processed through the Express Entry system, making the process efficient and transparent.
- Language Test - Complete IELTS General Training, CELPIP General, or French equivalent to verify you meet CLB minimums.
- Create Express Entry Profile - Submit your profile online with your NOC code, work history, language scores, and education details.
- Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA) - CEC-specific draws are conducted periodically. CEC candidates often see lower cut-off scores than all-program draws.
- Submit PR Application - You have 60 days to compile and submit your full application, including all supporting documents.
- Biometrics & Medical Exam - Complete at designated service points. Since you're already in Canada, this is straightforward.
- Receive COPR - Confirm you meet residency obligations; you're now a Canadian Permanent Resident.
- IRCC Decision - Target processing time is 6 months from application submission.
